Keep the fires burning

Jarrod’s Buttsworth’s ingenuity as an engineer again came to the fore when Civilbuild was constructing a bridge over a flood plain at Walcha.

It was not the ideal situation but circumstances demanded that the bridge had to be built in the middle of winter and of course it was one of the coldest winters that area had experienced in many years.

And that presented plenty of problems when it came to pouring the concrete deck.

Jarrod and his crew positioned 44 gallon drums, filled with firewood under the deck, lit them and kept the fires burning to help the concrete go off.
